TeachUp – Strengthening the Role of Adult Educators in Europe

Across Europe, adult education plays a crucial role in supporting lifelong learning, workforce development, and social inclusion. Yet many adult educators lack structured training opportunities and formal recognition of their competencies. The TeachUp project addresses this gap by developing a comprehensive, competency-based training program for adult educators. The project focuses on strengthening professionalization, improving recognition of skills, and creating flexible learning pathways that fit the realities of part-time and non-traditional educators. A central element of TeachUp is the development of modular training combined with micro-credentials. This allows educators to build their competencies step by step, while receiving formal recognition aligned with European frameworks such as EQF, ESCO, and DigCompEdu . In addition, the project will establish a digital learning platform that provides accessible and flexible upskilling opportunities across Europe. This platform will not only deliver training but also support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and long-term professional development. By connecting policy frameworks, practical training, and digital innovation, TeachUp contributes to a stronger and more recognized adult education sector in Europe.
